About Blazeboard
Blazeboard is a balcony decking material that has the look, feel and performance similar to wood, but achieves the non-combustibility criteria required for high-rise residential applications.

In the current construction environment, it is the role of manufacturers to rise to the challenges set by the needs and wants of building users. To this end, having worked with wood to create attractive designs for flooring and decking; we applied our engineering experience of re-inventing construction materials to create Blazeboard which provides the visual and feel appeal of wood, whilst achieving the non-combustibility requirements demanded by the building regulations.

We achieved this by building on existing re-enforced cement composite technology, by testing, adapting and retesting to optimise the material for high-rise residential balconies, but then also being suitable for:

  • Balconies at any height
  • Roof terraces
  • Walkways and bridges
  • Fire Escape routes
  • Building cladding

Blazeboard is installed similarly to timber decking, with gaps of 6-8mm between boards.  The boards are fixed down directly to the balcony structure, or onto non-combustible anodized aluminium battens with stainless steel screws.  The boards can be cut with conventional saws, and the cut ends do not need any treatment.
